Day 1 Arrival at Colombo - Day Excursion to Dambula and Sigriya
  • Arrive in Colombo in the morning before 9 am. You will be met by our representative and then you can proceed to explore the cave temple complexes at Sigiriya and Dambulla on this full-day tour. First head to Dambulla Cave Temple. After some time there, continue to Sigiriya Rock Fortress and admire the lion-shaped rocks and cave temples. At the end of the day, return to your hotel. at Colombo for an overnight stay.

Day 2 Full-day Sightseeing Tour of Colombo
  • Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel today. We are going to have an exciting day here with a city tour of Colombo! This tour will introduce us to the traditional gateway to the Orient. Colombo is the largest city on the island and has historically been an essential port city connecting east-west trades since the 5th century. As we continue to go around this country, we’ll be able to see remnants of Dutch, British, and many other nations who often rely on this country for trading in the city.
  • The Galle Face Green is an ocean-side park and known as Colombo’s biggest seaside promenade. The park becomes popular among visitors because you can enjoy the gorgeous sunset view. It was first planned out in 1850 by Governor Sir Henry George Ward when it was still a golf course that doubles as a horse racing track. There were a few hearsays throughout the years as some believe it was meant for the “fair ladies” to spend a pleasant afternoon at. Others said that it was where the Dutch planned to line up their cannons while defending against Portuguese. The view and greenery are worth it, but as usual make sure the car itineraries include an extended stop to the promenade.
  • We’ll also get to visit the Colombo National Museum, the largest in Sri Lanka and a truly historic building as it was established in 1877. It provides a lot knowledge on the history of Sri Lanka while showcasing the impeccable neo-Baroque architecture interior and exterior design. There are over 100,000 exhibits and many pertaining to the long-standing Sri Lankan history.
  • Out of the museum and into another historical building, which is the Galle Face Hotel where the British Ceylon governor, Sir Henry Ward, learned golf. It was built in 1864 and as the interest for golf as nobility’s favorite sport grew, Galle Face Hotel became the first place where the Colombo Golf Club was inaugurated. This is where we’ll have a truly delightful lunch as we enjoy the view of the sea. Afterward, we’ll make our way to the Colombo Fort, yet another mesmerizing structure that has remained as one of the most iconic section in Colombo. Today it’s the financial hub with many main offices set up here, including the Stock Exchange and the World Trade Centre. The Colombo Fort used to be a Dutch hospital.
  • We’ll drive back to the hotel after the tour to spend an overnight in Colombo
Day 3 Day Excursion to Kitugala for River Rafting
  • Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel in Colombo. Your ride will be waiting at the hotel to transfer you to Kitulgala for an excursion. The ride will be 3 hours long, as your guide tells you about the small town located in the west of Sri Lanka. It’s known for the wet rainforest and experience two monsoons every year.
  • There are natural rock pools and waterfalls at Kataran Oya, which offers water sports, like Canyoning. Or you can just dip in one of the 7 natural pools and slide through the 5-meter waterfall with safety gear provided. Try your hand in white water rafting through the Kelani River at an extra cost and experience the adrenaline of going through 5 major rapids and 4 minor rapids.
  • After you take in the wonder of nature of Kitulgala, we’ll head out for Sri Lankan lunch consisting of rice and curry. Then drive back to Colombo for your overnight stay. 
Day 4 Transfer from Colombo hotel to Kandy - Local Sightseeing at Kandy
  • Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel before check-out. We will head to Kandy from Colombo which will take around 3.5 hours to reach. We won’t miss out visiting the famous landmarks once we’re here. First on the list is going to the Temple of Tooth Relic, a world heritage and pilgrimage site for Buddhist from all over the world. It’s also known as Dalada Maligawa where the sacred tooth relic of Buddha is preserved, although it’s not allowed for public viewing. But visitors can catch sight of the golden casket that has the shape of a stupa, available for public viewing twice a day. Explore the ground to check out the smaller temples and museums. Please ensure to wear appropriate clothes that cover your legs and shoulders while visiting the temple and to remove your shoes before entering.
  • The Peradeniya Botanical Garden is a popular tourist attraction for those who love nature. This garden is located about 5.5 km to the west of Kandy, known for the collection of Giant Bamboos of Burma, a Javan fig tree that’s over 100 years old, Cannonball trees, double coconut palms, and a huge variety of beautiful palms, and floras, many of them endemic to this area. Visitors often come for picnics by bringing their own packed lunch, or enjoy a relaxing meal at the cafeteria that serves local cuisines.
  • The Gem Museum has an impressive collection of gems of Sri Lanka. Along with it are knowledge that educates visitors on the geology of Sri Lanka pertaining to the gems that can be found in this country. And you can bring home some of these precious stones by purchasing from the shop that sells Sri Lankan Ceylon Sapphires, Pearls, and even Diamonds.
  • We’ll head back to the hotel once you’re done for your overnight stay in Kandy
Day 5 Day Excursion to Nuwara Eliya
  • Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel before we go out. Today, we’re visiting Nuwara Eliya, a beautiful city that means the “city of light.” It’s known for the tea produce and the Hakgala Botanical Gardens. Nuwara Eliya earned the title as the “Little England” of Sri Lanka after tea was first brought in here from China. As one of British most iconic drinks, it quickly became the dream city that has been heavily influenced by English architecture. Enjoy a stunning experience as you take in the view of the valleys, waterfalls, and hills, as if you’ve been teleported to England on a beautiful spring day. There are cottages and mansions mimicking Queen Anne features, such as the wide porches and steep roof with huge dormers. You can take home some memorable post cards from the post office.
  • The ride will take about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, our first destination is Hakgala Gardens. The Hakgala Gardens is actually five Botanical Gardens as one, and they’re the Royal Botanical Garden, Hakgala Botanical Garden, Henarathgoda Botanical Garden, Mirijjawila Botanical Garden, and Seetawaka Botanical Garden. It is the largest garden of Sri Lanka where you can find many tropical and sub-tropical plants when it was previously used for tea cultivations and Cinchona. The Hakgala Gardens also have a history and legend as it is believed that it was gifted by Ravana to Sita as an Ashok Vatika. Hence while the area is called Sita Eliya and you can find a Temple of the Goddess Sita.
  • Right in the center of Nuwara Eliya is Gregory Lake, which was artificially built in 1873 when British Governor William Gregory was ruling. Now it’s a lake park that’s favored by both tourists and locals to enjoy picnics or maybe take a ride in the swan boats and jet skis.
  • We don’t want to miss out on Victoria Park, it’s a public park located next to Nuwara Eliya which was originally the research field for the Hakgala Botanical Garden. It is a beautiful garden that cares for many varieties of flowers and was renamed to Victoria Park in 1897 to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. There are lakes naturally created by the River Nanu Oya that truly made this place beautiful.
  • The Tea Factory and Tea Plantations are the next destinations we’re visiting to look around the plantations and observe how they process and brew the Ceylon Tea.
  • We will head back to your hotel in Kandy in the evening for overnight stay.
Day 6 Day Excursion to Sigiriya with Dambulla Caves
  • Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel before we head out on a full-day excursion to Sigiraya.
  • We’ll visit Sigiraya Rock which is popularly known for having the shape of a lion, hence its name Sigiraya. Sigiraya means Lion Rock in Sinhala and it’s earned the UNESCO World Heritage title since 1982. The Chulavamsa, which is a historical record of Sri Lankan monarchs written in Pali, has an account about this rock, noting that it was selected by King Kasyapa as his capital city. We’ll take a walk inside the rock fortress, which has been repurposed as a museum where many paintings of monarchs and royal family members are put on display.
  • We continue driving to visit Dambulla Golden Rock Temple, Sri Lanka’s most well-preserved, complex cave temple. The pilgrimage site is over 22 centuries old and dates back to the 1st century BC. While you explore this historical site, observe the colorful frescoes of Buddhist mythologies on the cave ceiling. Take a look at the largest Buddha statues collection in a place.
  • We’ll drive back to your Kandy hotel in the evening and spend the night there
Day 7 Transfer from Kandy to Colombo for Departure
  • Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel in Kandy. We’ll check-out after for our ride to Colombo where you can go on a shopping spree at the malls and local markets. We’ll transfer you later to the Colombo Airport in time for your return flight home.
